What is Impactful Automation?

Automation is changing. Different stakeholders all need unique challenges and outcomes from their initiatives and until now there hasn’t been a cohesive framework to pull it all together.

In this video, North American Solutions Architect Brad Zellefrow describes Ductus’ Impactful Automation philosophy and how following it can help your organization achieve greater ROI from it’s automation initiatives by overcoming the most common pitfalls teams don’t see coming.

  • Automation isn’t just code
Many automation initiatives fail not because of technical challenges, but because of organizational challenges such as inter-silo conflict, use-case prioritization, and unclear business value. To address these, automation teams need to think outside of just what the code can do and start talking about the human system it lives within.
  • Define Success
Having a clear goal for your automation initiative increases efficiency and clarity of purpose. Having some kind of metric that automation is attempting to impact, such as ticket reduction or mean time to repair, is an easy way to build a measuring stick for your team’s decision making process.
  • Think bigger
Impactful Automation is all about considering where your automation can provide the most impact! This means taking time to talk to different stakeholders about their pain points and how they might be able to get value out of your efforts. With a little upfront work, you might be able to discover how to get a faster return on your auotmation investment.
